Is a cleaning fee included in the private event quote, or am I responsible for cleaning the space after the event?

What the pages say

The website does not say. Nowhere in The Template's private event rental content is a cleaning fee, post-event cleaning responsibility, or the contents of a rental quote mentioned. The private-event-bookings page only describes the space (art installations, lighting equipment, projectors, green/white screens, cafe) and add-on services ("We can provide photographers/ videographers and bartenders if needed. Please contact us for more details!"), while the Private Event Rental event listings say only "That's right! We do rentals too. Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!" Rental inquiries are routed to an external Airtable form via the RENT button on the Collaborate page, so terms like cleaning are presumably communicated only during that inquiry — the site itself is silent on whether cleaning is included in the quote or is the renter's responsibility.

The fix

Add rental terms to the private-event-bookings page (or create a rental FAQ/pricing section) that explicitly states whether a cleaning fee is included in the event quote or whether renters are responsible for cleaning the space afterward — currently the page only says "Please contact us for more details!" with no terms at all.

Does the venue provide liability insurance for my event, or am I required to purchase my own event insurance?

What the pages say

The Template's website does not address event insurance at all, so the question cannot be answered from the site. Its rental-related content — the private event bookings page ('Throw your next event/meeting/wedding/memorial in our space! We can provide photographers/ videographers and bartenders if needed. Please contact us for more details!'), the Collaborate/Rent page with its Airtable inquiry forms, and the Private Event Rental and Wedding Rental event listings — describes the space and optional services but never mentions liability insurance, certificate-of-insurance (COI) requirements, coverage limits, or whether renters must purchase their own event policy. The site navigation (Home, Events, Menu, Collaborate with us!, Artists, Gallery, Groups, Members) shows no policies, terms, or FAQ page. Whether the venue carries liability insurance for your event or requires you to buy your own is not stated anywhere; you would need to contact the venue directly through their rental inquiry form.

The fix

Add an insurance/liability section to the private event bookings page (obtemplate.com/private-event-bookings) or create a rental FAQ stating: whether the venue carries liability insurance covering private events, whether renters must provide a certificate of insurance (COI) naming the venue, any minimum coverage limits, and whether third-party event insurance is required — or link to the rental agreement terms.

03pricing · importance mediumGoes silent+7 content pts est.

If my event runs past the scheduled end time, what is the overtime charge per hour?

What the pages say

No overtime charge is published anywhere in the retrieved content. All 20 chunks are individual event listings with one-off ticket prices (e.g., Sierra Marin: 'Tickets are $15, Event is from 7-11pm'; Kinky Game Night: $25 pre-sale / $35 GA; Disco Night: $16 advance / $18 door) or, in one case, a brief venue-policy blurb stating only that The Template is an all-ages space, does not serve alcohol, and will refund you if an event is cancelled or does not go as planned. Nothing states an hourly rate, overtime/overage fee, or any policy for events running past their scheduled end time. The site navigation does show a 'Collaborate with us!' link pointing to a 'book-rent-the-template' page, but that page was not among the retrieved chunks, so rental terms including overtime pricing may exist there — they are simply not visible in what was retrieved.

The fix

The topic belongs on the venue rental/booking page (nav item 'Collaborate with us!' → https://www.obtemplate.com/copy-of-book-rent-the-template), which retrieval failed to surface. Crawl that page plus any rental FAQ, and explicitly publish the overtime/extra-hour rate (or state that no overtime is charged) so buyers renting the space can find it.

Can I load in decorations or equipment the evening before my event, or is setup only allowed on the booking day?

What the pages say

The website doesn't publish any setup or load-in policy. None of its rental content mentions early access, evening-before load-in, or setup windows. The private event bookings page only describes the space and its amenities (lighting equipment, projectors, chairs, tables, dressing room, etc.) and says "Please contact us for more details!"; the Private Event Rental event pages just say "That's right! We do rentals too. Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!"; and the Wedding Rental page directs readers to the COLLABORATION page to start planning. So whether decorations or equipment can be loaded in the evening before the event is not stated anywhere on the site — the buyer would need to contact the venue directly (via the "Collaborate with us!" page) to confirm.

The fix

Add a rental logistics/FAQ page (or expand the private-event-bookings page) that states venue access and setup times — specifically whether early load-in the evening before an event is permitted and any associated fees. Also ensure the "Collaborate with us!" page (copy-of-book-rent-the-template), which all rental pages point to for details, is crawlable — its content did not appear in retrieval and is the most likely home for this information.

05What is the maximum number of guests allowed for a private event?limitsHedges+7 pts est.

What is the maximum number of guests allowed for a private event?

What the pages say

The Template's website does not state a maximum guest count for private events anywhere in the retrieved content. The Private Event Rental event pages contain only the pitch 'That's right! We do rentals too. Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!' plus date/time and address details (e.g., May 09, 2026, 9:00 PM – May 10, 2026, 1:00 AM at The Template, 5032 Niagara Ave, San Diego, CA 92107). The /private-event-bookings page describes the space (art installations, lighting equipment, projectors, green and white screens, a cafe usable for private events) but gives no capacity, occupancy, or headcount figure. The only path offered for specifics is to inquire via the 'Collaborate with the Template' page (obtemplate.com/copy-of-book-rent-the-template), whose body content does not appear in these chunks.

The fix

Publish concrete guest-capacity details (max occupancy, seated vs. standing limits, any fire-code cap) on the Private Event Rental event pages and the /private-event-bookings page. Also verify the 'Collaborate with the Template' booking page (obtemplate.com/copy-of-book-rent-the-template) — repeatedly linked as the inquiry destination — is crawlable, since its body text was not captured in the retrieved chunks and may be where capacity info lives.

06What is the latest date I can cancel a private booking and still receive a full refund?cancellationHedges+4 pts est.

What is the latest date I can cancel a private booking and still receive a full refund?

What the pages say

The site publishes no cancellation deadline — or any customer-initiated cancellation/refund policy — for private bookings, so no 'latest date for a full refund' is stated anywhere in the retrieved content. The only refund commitments found are venue-side: 'We will refund you if an event is cancelled or does not go as planned' (a general venue statement on the workshops-events page), and a one-off offer when the VISIONQUEST event was postponed: 'If you have already purchased a ticket for VISIONQUEST we will honor it in August, or we would be happy to issue you a full refund.' The Private Event Rental event pages contain no booking terms at all — they only say 'Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!' — and the retrieved Private Event Bookings page contains only site navigation. Cancellation terms for private rentals therefore appear to be handled case-by-case via direct inquiry through the Collaborate page (obtemplate.com/copy-of-book-rent-the-template); you would need to contact the venue to learn the latest full-refund cancellation date.

The fix

Publish a concrete cancellation/refund policy for private bookings — e.g., 'full refund if cancelled at least X days before the event' — on the Private Event Bookings or Collaborate page. Also ensure those pages' body text is crawlable: the retrieved Private Event Bookings chunk contained only navigation, and the Collaborate/booking page (copy-of-book-rent-the-template) appeared only as a link target rather than as retrievable content.

07How much does it cost to rent the venue for a private event on a Saturday night?pricingHedges+4 pts est.

How much does it cost to rent the venue for a private event on a Saturday night?

What the pages say

The Template's website does not publish a rental price for private events — including Saturday nights. It confirms Saturday-night rental slots exist on its calendar (e.g., 'Private Event Rental' on Sat, May 9, 2026, 9:00 PM–1:00 AM and Sat, May 16, 2026, 7:00 PM–11:00 PM at The Template, 5032 Niagara Ave, San Diego, CA 92107), but those listings contain no dollar amount — they only say 'That's right! We do rentals too. Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!' The dedicated Private Event Bookings page ('Rent our funky space!') describes the venue (art installations, lighting equipment, projectors, green/white screens, a cafe, and optional photographers/videographers/bartenders) but likewise ends with 'Please contact us for more details!' So the answer a careful agent can give: Saturday-night rentals are offered, but cost is inquiry-only via obtemplate.com/copy-of-book-rent-the-template. The only prices anywhere on the retrieved pages are public-event ticket prices ($35–$45 for the Chunky Hustle burlesque show, $10 advance/$15 door for improv, $20–$30 for the Day Daze party), which are not venue rental rates.

The fix

Publish actual rental pricing on the Private Event Bookings page or the 'Collaborate with us!' page — e.g., hourly or flat rates, a 'starting at' price, weekend/Saturday-night premiums, minimum spend, and what's included — so buyers don't have to submit an inquiry just to learn the cost.

08Does the rental fee include tables, chairs, and basic A/V equipment, or do I need to rent those separately?inclusionsHedges+4 pts est.

Does the rental fee include tables, chairs, and basic A/V equipment, or do I need to rent those separately?

What the pages say

Partially. The venue's rental page (obtemplate.com/private-event-bookings) lists Tables, Chairs, Video Equipment, and Lighting Equipment among its amenities ('Here're some of the amenities we offer: ... Video Equipment ... Lighting Equipment ... Chairs ... Tables ...'), and the space description mentions 'a large space with lighting equipment, projectors, green and white screens.' So the equipment physically exists on-site. However, the site never states whether these items are included in the rental fee or cost extra — it only says services like photographers/videographers/bartenders 'can be provided... if needed' and directs you to 'Please contact us for more details!' via the Collaborate/Rent inquiry form. You would need to contact the venue to confirm fee inclusion.

The fix

On the private-event-bookings page (or the rental inquiry form), add an explicit 'What's included' section stating whether tables, chairs, and the on-site A/V (projector, lighting, sound) are included in the rental fee at no extra charge, and which items or services (e.g., photographers, bartenders) incur additional fees.

09Is there a minimum number of hours required to book the space for a private event?limitsHedges+4 pts est.

Is there a minimum number of hours required to book the space for a private event?

What the pages say

The site does not state a minimum booking duration for private events anywhere in its rental content. The private-event-bookings page describes the space (art installations, lighting equipment, projectors, green/white screens, videographers, and a cafe usable during private rentals) but gives no rental-length requirements. Booking is handled entirely by inquiry: 'Fill out this quick form to book the template space. After your done with the form we will contact you very shortly!' linking to an Airtable form. The only duration signals on the site are two sample 'Private Event Rental' listings, each spanning 4 hours (May 9, 2026, 9:00 PM–1:00 AM and May 16, 2026, 7:00 PM–11:00 PM), but these are example event listings, not a stated minimum-hours policy. Whether a minimum applies would need to be confirmed by contacting the venue through their inquiry form.

The fix

Publish concrete rental terms (minimum booking hours, pricing, capacity, setup/teardown time) on the /private-event-bookings or /copy-of-book-rent-the-template page instead of only directing visitors to an inquiry form; currently no page states any duration requirement, and the booking-details page referenced in the nav was not retrievable with terms.

10Can I bring outside catering and alcohol, or am I required to use the venue's approved vendors?policiesHedges+4 pts est.

Can I bring outside catering and alcohol, or am I required to use the venue's approved vendors?

What the pages say

The website does not publish a policy on outside catering, outside alcohol, or approved vendors — that question is never addressed anywhere in the retrieved content, so it cannot be answered from the site; the private-event bookings page effectively defers it to a direct inquiry ('Please contact us for more details!'). What the site does say that bears on it: (1) 'The Template is an all ages space and does not serve alcohol' (workshops-events page); (2) for private bookings — 'Throw your next event/meeting/wedding/memorial in our space! We can provide photographers/ videographers and bartenders if needed' — i.e., in-house bartending is offered, but no caterer list, BYOB rule, or vendor requirement is stated; (3) some public event listings note 'Alcohol is served' (e.g., the Improv Show), which is about venue events, not your bring-your-own options. Bottom line: whether you can bring outside catering/alcohol or must use the venue's vendors is not stated online — you would have to contact the venue.

The fix

Add a private-events/rentals FAQ section stating the venue's policy on outside catering, outside alcohol/BYOB (and any corkage or kitchen fees), and whether an approved-vendor list is required. Currently obtemplate.com/private-event-bookings only says 'contact us for more details,' leaving the most common rental question unanswered.

11Is a security deposit required for private event bookings, and if so, how much is it and when is it refunded?pricingHedges+4 pts est.

Is a security deposit required for private event bookings, and if so, how much is it and when is it refunded?

What the pages say

The site does not publish any security deposit information for private event bookings — neither whether a deposit is required, nor an amount, nor a refund schedule. The Private Event Bookings page describes only the space itself (art installations, lighting equipment, projectors, green and white screens, a cafe usable for private events) with no booking terms or pricing. The Private Event Rental listings say only: "That's right! We do rentals too. Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!" and point to https://www.obtemplate.com/copy-of-book-rent-the-template, indicating that deposit and payment terms are handled via direct inquiry rather than stated on the site. The only refund-related statement found anywhere is a general one on the workshops/events page: "We will refund you if an event is cancelled or does not go as planned" — but that addresses event cancellations, not security deposits for private rentals.

The fix

Publish the actual booking terms on the Private Event Bookings page (or the Collaborate/booking page it links to): state explicitly whether a security deposit is required, the amount, what it covers, and when/how it is refunded. Right now the page only markets the space and defers all terms to an inquiry form, so buyers researching pricing find nothing.

12What is the latest time a private event with amplified music can run on a weeknight?operationsHedges+4 pts est.

What is the latest time a private event with amplified music can run on a weeknight?

What the pages say

The site does not publish any weeknight cutoff for amplified music at private events. The Private Event Rental pages contain no terms or hours — they only say "That's right! We do rentals too. Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!" The only private rental with published times is a weekend slot (Sat, May 9, 2026, 9:00 PM – May 10, 2026, 1:00 AM), which shows late-night private events exist but says nothing about weeknights. Adjacent context: the venue's regular weeknight programming ends early (Monday open jam runs 6:30–9:30 PM; a Monday storytelling event ran 7:00–9:00 PM), though one amplified-music event on a Monday (the Halloween bass party) ran 7 PM–2 AM. For a definitive answer on how late a private event with amplified music can run on a weeknight, you would have to inquire via the 'Collaborate with the Template' page the rental listings point to, which is not represented in the retrieved content.

The fix

Expand the Private Event Rental pages (or the 'Collaborate with the Template' page they defer to) with actual rental terms: latest amplified-music end times by day of week, any noise/curfew policies, and example rental time slots. Currently the rental pages contain only 'Inquire on our Collaborate with the Template page!' with no operational details a renter could use.

13Is the venue wheelchair accessible, including the entrance, event space, and restrooms?accessibilityHedges+2 pts est.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible, including the entrance, event space, and restrooms?

What the pages say

Partially. The venue's private event bookings page lists "Wheelchair Accessible" and "Street level access" among the amenities it offers ("Here're some of the amenities we offer: ... Wheelchair Accessible ... Street level access"), which supports general wheelchair accessibility and a step-free, street-level entrance. "Restrooms" also appears in the amenities list, but only as a plain amenity — the site never states that the restrooms themselves are wheelchair accessible or ADA-compliant, and it provides no per-area breakdown (entrance door details, event space layout, accessible restroom facilities). A buyer needing confirmation about restroom accessibility specifically would have to contact the venue via its rental inquiry form.

The fix

Replace the bare 'Wheelchair Accessible' checkbox in the amenities list with a short accessibility section stating exactly what is accessible: step-free/street-level entrance, wheelchair-accessible restrooms (ADA-compliant?), and event space access, so renters don't have to inquire.

14What is the exact street address, and is there dedicated on-site parking or only street parking?locationHedges+2 pts est.

What is the exact street address, and is there dedicated on-site parking or only street parking?

What the pages say

The street address is clearly stated: the venue ("The Template") is at 5032 Niagara Ave, San Diego, CA 92107, USA — this exact address appears consistently across the site's event pages (e.g., "The Template, 5032 Niagara Ave, San Diego, CA 92107, USA"). On parking, the site only gives indirect evidence: the private event bookings page lists "Parking Space(s)" among the rental amenities, and the Dali Gras event description mentions "an outdoor stage in our parking lot take over," implying the venue has its own lot. However, the site never explicitly states whether parking is dedicated on-site parking versus street parking, how many spaces exist, or whether attendees/visitors can use it — so the buyer's either/or parking question cannot be answered definitively from the site.

The fix

Add a 'Location & Parking' section (homepage, contact page, or FAQ) that states the full address once in prose and explicitly answers the parking question: number of on-site spaces, whether the lot is available to event attendees, whether it's free or paid, and any street parking or public transit guidance. The current 'Parking Space(s)' amenity label and an incidental 'parking lot' mention in one event description are too ambiguous for visitors planning a trip.

15If I buy a ticket for a public event and can't attend, can I transfer it to a friend or receive a refund?cancellationHedges+2 pts est.

If I buy a ticket for a public event and can't attend, can I transfer it to a friend or receive a refund?

What the pages say

Partially. The Template's only stated refund policy is: "We will refund you if an event is cancelled or does not go as planned" (workshops-events page). This is reinforced by a real example: when the VISIONQUEST event was postponed, organizers told ticket holders "If you have already purchased a ticket for VISIONQUEST we will honor it in August, or we would be happy to issue you a full refund." So you can reasonably expect a refund if the event itself is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed. However, the site says nothing about refunds when you personally can't attend, and it has no stated policy on transferring a ticket to a friend — neither topic appears on any retrieved page.

The fix

Add a ticketing policy section or FAQ (on the workshops-events page or a dedicated tickets page) that explicitly states: (1) whether tickets are transferable to another person, (2) whether refunds are available when a buyer can't attend for personal reasons, and (3) any refund request deadlines. The current single line — 'We will refund you if an event is cancelled or does not go as planned' — only covers event-side cancellations, not buyer-side changes of plan.
